Progressive Boat School’s On–water Boating Classes
Learn by doing. Take the helm under the instruction of USCG Licensed Captains to gain more confidence on the water. Skills covered include boat handling, docking, knots, basic navigation, and weather awareness. Basic Boat Operator and Women at the Wheel classes available.

Basic Boat Operator
Build confidence at the helm as you learn how to safely and effectively skipper a powerboat. This course covers essential skills including safe boating practices, radio communications, line handling, docking, operating at speed, and weather. Instruction takes place aboard single-outboard powerboats and boaters of all skill levels are welcome.
Women at the Wheel
Designed for women who want to build the skills and confidence to safely and effectively skipper their own powerboat. Topics covered include safe boating practices, radio communications, line handling, docking, operating at speed, and weather, with hands-on instruction aboard single-outboard powerboats.
