WHAT: Want to close out summer with a splash? Amphibious boat rides, meet and greets with Deadliest Catch Captain Johnathan Hillstrand, paddlesports and interactive on-water activities are among the many unique attractions cruising into the 2013 Progressive Insurance Norwalk Boat Show. A favorite among northeast boating and outdoor enthusiasts, the four-day event offers a wide array of events and experiences for visitors of all ages.
The annual boat show offers a one-stop shopping destination for visitors to see and shop the newest boats and marine accessories, brush up on boating education, enjoy the boating lifestyle first-hand through on-the-water adventures and discover why life is better with a boat. Novices and lifelong boaters who love life on the water can compare brands and shop for deals on hundreds of new motor and sailing yachts, sport fishers, performance boats, sailboats, and kayaks, plus the largest selection of marine accessories in the northeast, all while enjoying the sights and sounds of Long Island Sound in the nautical New England town of Norwalk, Connecticut.

  • NEW!Sealegs® Demos—test ride the ultimate land & water vehicle. Enjoy a ride on a revolutionary boat that transforms from an all-terrain vehicle to an ocean-going power boat at the push of a button. Sealegs®  amphibious boats feature three retractable all-wheel-drive "legs" that give riders the freedom to land or launch anywhere. Demos happen daily at Try It Cove.
  • NEW! Relax and unwind at The Water Club Lounge. The Water Club Lounge is a tented oasis of refreshment open to all where visitors can relax in a comfortable atmosphere and enjoy a beverage on the water. 

  • Paddle to Try It Cove. Try it Cove gives visitors the chance to find out firsthand why paddlesports are all the rage, with a variety of complimentary daily opportunities to get on the water, including Stand Up Paddling (SUP), SUP yoga and kayaking presented by Downunder located in Rowayton and Westport - see full schedule.
  • Become the sharpest tool in the shed. Do-it-yourselfers or boat owners interested in maintaining, repairing or upgrading their boat or engine can head to Fred’s Shed DIY Seminars & the Interactive Learning Center for practical, professional advice. Free, daily seminars and talk-show format clinics cover a variety of topics and include demos and question/answer sessions. 
  • Take the Helm with Discover Boating’s Hands on Skill Training.Basic docking fundamentals, close quarters maneuvering skills, advanced docking skills, open water boat handling & safety and anchoring & multi-vessel rafting are just some of the interactive and educational on-the-water programs for boaters of all ages looking to learn something new or hone their skills.
  • Free sail and powerboat rides, budget tips and more at the Welcome to the Water Center. A must-attend for boaters just getting started who want to learn how to make the most of their time on the water and discover which boat best suits their budget and lifestyle.
  • See the new Miss GEICO racing boat. Come check out the new Miss GEICO, a 50-foot, 11,000-pound Victory catamaran with a top speed of 170 mph that’s almost 1,500 pounds lighter than her predecessor and equal in length. Off-season plans include replacing her 1075 Mercury racing engines with a set of 1500 HP piston racing engines, enabling Miss GEICO to reach a top speed in excess of 200 mph!
  • Kids' ‘Create-a-Boat,’ Dora and more at Kids’ Cove. Little skippers can use their creativity to build a nautical masterpiece with some wood, a little glue, and a lot of imagination, plus navigate around a mini-lake in their very own paddleboat. And Dora the Explorer herself will be in attendance Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-4pm for photos!

TICKETS: $15 for adults; children 15 and under get in FREE. Discount Group Tickets — $3.00 discount per ticket; available for groups of 10-30; $5 discount per ticket for groups of 31+.
